$

We have a user working from home who connects to our corporate network using GLobal VPN Client.

The Internet Speeds at her home are

Downloads: 300 Mbps

Uploads: 200 Mbps

When she connects to the Global VPN Client, her internet speeds drops to

Downloads: 0.8 Mbps

Uploads: 200 Mbps

Even after disconnecting the VPN the speeds remain very low. Then she has to restart her computer to gain the initially mentioned speeds.

We have 10 other users working on the same Windows 10 Pro and same network speeds and VPN. Only this one user has this problem

Appreciate if anyone can help me find out whats going on and correct this

Allow SonicWall SSLVPN endpoints to talk to each other

Imagine if you will...a SonicWall NSa 2650 that is configured for SSLVPN with multiple SSLVPN clients successfully connected and communicating with hosts on the private network. Now imagine a Cisco Call Manager server on the inside network and each SSLVPN endpoint configured with the Cisco IP Communicator soft phone client. The CIPC clients have successfully checked in with the Call Manager and are able to make calls to phones on the inside network as well as calls to outside numbers. Finally, imagine that a CIPC client running on one SSLVPN-connected endpoint (say with extension 801) wants to call a second CIPC client that is running on a second SSLVPN-connected endpoint (say with extension 802). The call path between 801 and 802 gets set up successfully with the Call Manager but once the call connects, there is no audio either way....

SonicWALL vpn won't let me connect

When I try to connect to my companies VPN from home, the log shows the following;

"The peer is not responding to phase 1 ISAKMP requests"
I have tried it using both routers that I have at home (ASUS RT-AC5300 and an older Netgear N600) and even tried plugging the laptop directly into my internet modem thinking my router was preventing the connection. Even plugged in to the modem (no router at all obviously) I get the same message which makes me suspect the problem is on the companies side, and not having to do with my home internet. I am hardware and software proficient but am fairly ignorant to the Networking side of things.
The VPM works through my company provided phone hotspot.
Our "IT department" is no help at all. His advice was to buy a new router. I told him I just bought a $300 router and regardless, plugging the laptop into the...

Im trying a 2 labs that I cant seem to solve on my sonic wall...

PC0(10.10.10.10) (LAN)-> attached to Switch1-> attached to X0(10.10.10.1) on sonicwall1

PC1(10.10.20.10) (LAN) -> attached to Switch2-> attached to X1(10.10.20.1) on sonicwall1

What rule can I setup so PC0 to see PC1?

I have a LAN to LAN, any source, any service, any destination rule. but no luck. I can only get PC1 to RDP into PC0 not vice versa which I find weird.

Second lab, How do I get X-1 to block traffic coming from X-0 so PC1 can't see talk to PC0.

How to change the defaultProfile in NetExtender

Hi,

We have rolled our NetExtender with the defaultProfile preset so the user only has to enter their username and password and can't change the Server or Domain.

How can I as an admin change the defaultProfile either directly on the laptop or via GPO?

I have found the location in the registry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SonicWall\SSL-VPN NetExtender\Standalone" however even as Domain admin I don't have permission to make changes to any of the keys here. The only principals with write access are "sonicwall_client_protection_svc" and "SONICWALL_NetExtender" all other access, including Owner, SYSTEM and Administrators is read-only.

The only way I have found to change the server is to uninstall NetExtender, and reinstall it. Although I am also finding that NetExtender doesn't particularly like being uninstalled and reinstalled with causing...

Hi All,

With all our users now working from home, we are utilising more Microsoft Teams. I've come across an issue with our VPN/Sonicwall Firewall.

When users are connected to the VPN they cannot make video calls. The call looks like its calling the user on the other end doesn't get the notification.  SOmetimes text messages don't go through either.

I've tested vpn-vpm connected users - doesnt work

vpn - users in the office behind the firewall - doesnt work

only works when the vpn is disconnected.

I have the firewall setup in Split Tunnel mode so I can't figure out what's happening

REALLY hoping someone can help me...Previously had an SRA 4600, exported the settings and imported into the new device - Everything worked great for the first 24 hours and now intermittently it won't allow users access to drives and those trying to connect via Net Extender get a 'Login Server Unreachable' error. I've got into admin and Portals > Domains and when I hit test it fails. What is more strange is in about 30 minutes it will begin working again? Makes no sense?

SonicWALL SSL VPN Drops after RDP Connection

Hi,

Over the years I have (and some others but not all) been experiencing SSL VPN disconnects as soon as we make a RDP connection to our office computers at work. After 2-4 attempts it finally stays stable. Now in the midst of this global pandemic, we have more employees working from home. We issued them laptops, so they can work from home. They are also experiencing SSL VPN disconnects when they make an RDP connection. It will take them 2-4 attempts until they get a stable connection. I've done many firmware upgrade versions and it never resolve the issue.

We are using both the NetExtender and SonicWALL Mobile Connect.

The Global VPN client seems to be more stable but it's out of the question to use, because it does not support 2FA.

I have called SonicWALL support yesterday and we enable Capture on the SonicWALL and enabled Logging on the...

Changing Subnet Mask and IP on X0

Hello, I am running a SONICWALL Soho and I am trying to make a site to site VPN with a provider. Currently, my subnet mask is the default 255.255.255.0 along with the IP address from my provider as 24.244.179.179 on the X1 connection. My X0 connection that goes to the main computer that I need to access the VPN is on the default IP address of 192.168.168.168 and subnet mask of 255.255.255.255. The provider requested that we change our IP address to 172.16.207.5 and our subnet mask to 255.255.255.255 while allowing a port number 10000. When I try to change the Soho's IP address to 172.16.207.5 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.255 I get the error"Invalid IP address – Choose an address within the subnet", and the X2 which I have set as portshield to X0 (which connects to a wireless router for devices within the building) goes down....

Can not see a server down Sonicwall VPN Tunnel

Hi all,

I wanted to know if you could help me with being able to see a server down a VPN tunnel.

Before I get started, I just want my cards on the table, I have been working with sonicwall for around two weeks, I am a newbie when it comes to this.

We use Sonicwall in the office and I now have it at home, there is a tunnel between the two sites. I have no trouble pinging or connecting to the said server when I am in the office The IP of the server I wish to see is 10.0.1.240. I have approx. 5 other servers all are reachable down the tunnel and onsite, and are on a 10.0.1.x

No this is where I think it's going wrong

The gateway of the server I wish to see is 10.0.1.251, where all the other servers are 10.0.1.250 this is because it’s a telephony sever and this needs to point at the leased line to get out on the sip trunks.

The telephony...

Can the SonicWALL SMA 410 Handle L2TP Traffic?

$

New to the SonicWALL SMA product line, and I am just wondering if it can handle existing L2TP traffic (haven't finished setup yet, just curious).

I know that once I complete installation and install it, all traffic sent to our org public IP will begin to be routed to the SMA device. Does that mean that people connecting in via L2TP will automatically be routed through the SMA? Or does the SMA only support connections coming in through NetExtender?

Thanks!

SonicWALL SSL VPN clients traffic usage

$

SSL VPN clients connect to our hub SonicWALL, then get their drives mapped to respective satellite offices.

How much traffic will VPN client use from our available internet bandwidth at the hub office? Users don't use RDP or any other remote software - they just get their drives map via NetExtender GUI client, and access drives at satellite office directly in File Explorer.

When VPN-connected from their home computer, and browse to website, do they go through their provider's internet or they use bandwidth on our hub SonicWALL.

Thanks

Sonicwall L2TP - Windows 10 VPN connects but cannot access or PING

Per a good recommendation on here this configure was suggested and it kind of works.

SonicWall TZ300
Setup L2TP and connecting with

Windows 10 latest build built in VPN client.

It connects and gets an IP and I can PING the internal IP of the Sonicwall but nothing else.

Cannot ping back from the network to the client either.
It does resolve the correct IP but PING times out.

Client and group are given VPN access to LAN Subnets in the USER section.

I haven't made any routes because I setup with like a wizard that should have created any rules etc by my understanding.

Have tried on 2 Windows 10 clients. Same on both.

I've been looking and trying things I found on here but nothing quite seems to fit. Many are using Global VPN Client instead but I want to avoid that if possible.

Security Services

When setting up a SonicWall TZ series firewall, by default both the WAN interface and the LAN interface have security services enabled: Gateway AV, Anti-Spyware, Intrusion Prevention. Is this a Best Practice, or does it unnecessarily increase the processing overhead for data moving between these two interfaces? Are SonicWall's published throughput numbers for a specific device measured when using this default configuration?

If all of my LAN devices are stationary desktops and I am only concerned about bad stuff coming in through the WAN interface, is it sufficient to run these services only on the WAN interface?

If I have laptops leaving and returning to the LAN, and I'm concerned about one returning with malware it picked up while it was away from the LAN, should I be running these services on the LAN interface as well, to intercept bad...

Hi,

VPN newbie...

We use this product as VPN sollution.

1 user can connect to our network, so it seems. But networkdrive's, RDP are not accessible. But I can eg. ping the server where RDP is running.

When I turn off all firewall's, windows defender, this user then is able to access everything she needs. She uses a WIN10 PRO workstation.

I did not see an IP adress with our network subnet. I have to check again when the user is not working.

Could someone recommend how-to setup windows firewall to allow proper VPN connection?

Thanks and take care.
