Sonicwall NetExtender IP Addesses

I'm trying to configure my Sonicwall TZ600 for NetExtender.  It sometimes works well, but sometimes I don't get any default gateway even though it gives me a valid IP address.

I'm wondering if it's because of my IP address range.  I currently have it set at 192.168.10.190-192.168.10.250.  On the DHCP server itself (which controls the internal computers as well as the remote ones) my range is 192.168.10.101-192.168.10.250.    Is this an incorrect configuration?  Should I somehow split my internal addresses and my NetExtender addresses?  If so, how would I do that?

Thank you

Sonicwall Netgear Vlan Config

I'm having my first crack at setting up a VLAN on a sonicwall TZ300 hooked up to a netgear ProSafe JGS524E

i am trying to assign the new VLAN to my laptop on port 2 of the switch.

steps taken so far

the X0 Lan is configured with 192.168.30.x all working and DHCP configured and ip's being assigned.

i have created a new Virtual Interface on the Sonicwall X0:V10 - ip range 192.168.25.x parent interface X0

created dhcp range of 192.168.25.x and assigned to pre populate interface X0:V10

on the Netgear switch i have added Vlan10 Tag and assigned ports 1 and 2 and tagged them both.

and set the pvid on both those ports to 10

connecting my laptop to port 2 is still giving me ip in range of 192.168.30.x

what am i missing?

Block IP Traffics by IP Address List

I need to block IP traffics from a specific country. I can export a free IP address list from IP2Location firewall generator. I'm not sure which format should I export. Does SonicWall TZ support CIDR as input file? I don't want to enter the list manually. I hope there is an option to easily import the whole file and start block the traffics.

Change Summarizer Server IP Address - SonicWall Viewpoint UTM 6.0

Hi

I can't figure out how to change the summarizer server (IP Address). You see, the old Viewpoint (GMSVP) server has been damaged by some i**ot IT officer. So I don't have a choice but to Install the Viewpoint to other server and restore the backup.

Now, here's the problem. The Summarizer IP address has not been changed. The new server where the viewpoint has been installed is 192.168.0.250, and the old server IP was 192.168.0.24. The old IP is still appearing in the Summarizer. How can I change that to the new Server IP address?

Here is the photo:

How can I change that old IP address to 192.168.0.250?

Thank you in Advance :)

How to Change Viewpoint Summarizer server/IP address?

Hi

Glad I could join here.

We have a trusty Sonicwall NSA4200 and I installed Viewpoint UTM. Now, the server where Viewpoint was installed has been damaged. So I installed Viewpoint to other server and restore all the configurations etc.

Now here's the problem. The Summarizer Name / IP address indicated is still the IP address of the old viewpoint server. How can I change the Summarizer name/IP address without messing up something (just of thought of avoiding to mess up something, just in case).

Here is the screenshot of the part that I want to change:

Everything is working, by the way. But this, every time I see this it's just so annoying.

Can it be changed, somehow?

Thank you in Advance.

Changing Client Policies via VPN Connection through Sonic Wall

I am not an IT person however I do connect to our Intranet via Dell Sonic wall from my client computer.

First let me explain the 2 networks involved.

I am connected to the company public facing "Network A" via Ethernet cable at my desk. "Network A" is administered and maintained by our company IT department.

We also have a private Intranet "Network B" that I must connect to daily via Sonic Wall VPN."Network B".

THE PROBLEM

Both "Network B" and the Sonic Wall itself is administered by a third party (one person) and I am the only client that connects using my Windows 10 Computer on "Network A" via VPN Sonic Wall.

The administrators of "Network A" and "Network B" are not allowed to converse or work with one another for political reasons.

Every month or so I have to rebuild my Windows 10 Computer due to changes made to group policies on my client...

Route all traffic over vpn through primary WAN port

Hi,

I currently have a NSA 3600 setup with redundant WAN ports, currently on the GVC i configure, i give 2 IP's I call them primary and secondary, basically they are the two WAN ip's from my Sonicwall, i give both just in case one wan line goes down the users will still be able to get in.

I set up for a certain group that all their traffic should get routed through the VPN using this guidehttps://www.sonicwall.com/en-us/support/knowledge-base/170503392435592and it's working fine.

my problem is, when a user from that group uses the secondary IP from the secondary WAN he can only access the local network, no external connections work until he disconnects from the vpn. my understanding is that it has something to do with NAT. How do i go ahead with configuring NAT for this configuration?

Thanks in advance.

Setting up secondary WAN and LAN

To preface: I am not very good at Sonicwall, but my boss decided to assign me to an advance (for me) Sonicwall task. I have looked through their guides and tried some, but I just can't seem to find the right one and I definitely do not understand what I am doing.

We have a new pack of public IPs that we are trying to set up to test with. We are trying to get X6 to be the WAN with the new public IP and X8 to be the LAN subnet for the public IP.

What is the best way of going about doing this?

Thanks!

sonicwall default firewall behaviour

What happens if there is no rule defined between zones e.g.:

WLAN > LAN - when both zones enabled

WLAN > LAN - when WLAN is unused (no sonic points configured)

Separately what are the virtual zones for e.g. VPN and what can be controlled by setting up rules e.g. from WAN to VPN (after adding up VPN tunnel all necessary firewall rules were added but there i no entries for WAN to VPN)?

Hi All,

I am getting the following error on my Sonicwall TZ200

"The webpage at http://192.168.0.1/systemPacketCaptureView.html might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. "

I have to restart the Device manually and then it works fine for some time. Then again the above error occurs.

SonicWall BWM

A SonicWall has 3 wireless zones: W0, W0:V1 & WO:V2

Global BWM is configured.

I want to throttle bandwidth on W0:V1 to BWM priority "6 Low"

When configuring an access rule for this, the Source field has three options related to W0:V1:

W0:V1 IP, W0:V1 Subnet, and Wireless VAP 1

Will any of these choices make a difference in the way the access rule behaves? The goal is for WO:V1 WAN traffic to have a lower priority than WO.

Sonicwall RDC

So my task is that i have 2 VMs and both need to be accessed by Remote desktop connection using custom port.  Im new to sonicwall so forgive me, if i do something wrong.  I watched few videos on how to set up Remote connections but so far, it's not working. First i made 2 custom tcp ports in network services and then i used wizard to make the Nat policies. I have also changed Translated service types to remote or to terminal tcp. But its not working so i guess i'm missing something important. I can connect both VMs by local RDC.

Can't ping from VPN to X2 Wan

Hello! I feel like I'm almost there but am stuck and was hoping for some help... here's the setup:

I've got two locations ( main and secondary ) running on 192.168.15.0-255 and 10.206.241.0-255..tied together with a VPN; everything is working fine .. all pings are good between the two subnets, etc.I also have our phone network @ 10.0.10.0-255 set up on both sides of the VPN. The goal is to connect into the phone network at the main store and send the traffic down the VPN to some phones at the secondary location.

At the main store, I've set up the X2 port as a WAN connection with a static ip on 10.0.10.51, with a gate way on 10.0.10.5 ( the phone system gateway ). It attaches into the phone system switch. If I attach a phone that uses that gateway to the LAN port on the sonicwall it connects to the phone system and lights up, so that...

Still a relative newbie to the Sonicwall SSL VPN and the TZ400 appliance..

I ran into the netextender is damaged error when testing on a client.. sonicwall's info page says to update the netextender client to a more recent 8.x version or the 9.x from what i can see.. they give a link to the file itself..

My question is.. how do i push this up to the portal page so that end users can just click the link as before and download this newer version from here on out?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions i might have missed

Sonicwall how to find the right IP in IP pool after translated by NAT? NAT table

$

I was just reading this guide:https://www.sonicwall.com/en-us/support/knowledge-base/170515155805172

I wonder how can we identify the right IP of a station/server in the IP Pool after it got translated by Sonic Wall NAT. If we make NAT policy to translate one IP then we know for sure it's that one, but it's translating the whole network into the pool. From Site B, if I want to reach to a PC in Site A, how do I know which IP in 172.16.1.0 to ping? I guess what I am looking for is a NAT translation table which I can't find in TZ600 running SonicOS 6.2.7.1.

*Edit to add another dumb question I have:

https://www.sonicwall.com/en-us/support/knowledge-base/170504796310067

According to this guide I should create a dummy/virtual lan subnet to prevent the overlapping between the client IP scheme and the Sonicwall LAN subnet. If a client connect to...

SonicWall access rules

Quick question: if there is no rule stating how traffic is handled between zones on a SonicWall, is the default behavior allow, or deny? I couldn't find an answer by searching, so thought I would see if someone here knew.

Thanks!

SonicPoint N with Centrino N

Good Day All! :)

I'm soliciting the advise of any SonicWALL/SonicPoint experts. I've read a lot of material over the past month on best practices for high client density environments using 802.11n (Ni,Ne, and N2) access points.

99% of the clients are Dell Latitude laptops with Centrino N cards. The access points (mentioned above) are mounted in the geographic center of the ceiling which have recessed fluorescent lighting. I can get 10-12 clients connected and working but I need to get more.

My access points are configured for 802.11n only, auto radio band with auto primary & secondary channels. Short Guard Interval is enabled along with Aggregation. Transmit power is set to half because there are access points in each neighboring room and beacon interval is set to 200 ms.

Are there settings here that are incorrect that I should change? Are...
