I have been trying to figure out the best way to handle this and thought I would run this by the community here. We are a small retail operation and currently have two locations (Loc1 and Loc2) across the street from each other (about 50 yards). Our mainframe is located at Loc1 and we have recently upgraded to a fiber line. With that upgrade we are going to do away with the internet at Loc2 and connect the two buildings with a Point to Point Bridge.
Loc1 is set at 172.16.1.XXX and Loc 2 is 172.16.2.XXX and currently connects to Loc1 via a VPN. My initial thought, to keep downtime at a minimum, since printers and computers are set to the .2 at Loc 2 could I not just set up a subnet on one of the interfaces on Sonicwall that the Point to Point bridge connects to and keep the IP address the same at location 2?
