We've had the same setup for years with no problems until today. Nothing has changed.
SonicWall TZ400, standard failover setup with primary WAN X1 (enterprise fiber connection) and failover WAN X6 (on a less reliable cheap backup rarely used).
We started receiving complaints earlier in the morning that users' SonicWall VPNs disconnecting every 30 seconds, and other remote in to the servers through our monitoring agent also lost connection every 30 seconds. Logs show the "Failover in progress" and "probing failure on X6" which is our backup.... but there was never a problem on our primary X1 WAN.
Why would the backup WAN cause outages like this? Our backup WAN being a slower less reliable backup would likely have outages regularly, but we should never know as long as our primary WAN is up, correct?
