We have two offices that we currently have connected through a Ethernet point to point. On the one end, we also have a 100mbps internet line. The point to point is great as it allows us to combine both offices as one network and DHCP and all other networking flows through as if it's all on the same lan. Now we are looking to upgrade and provide redundancy so we were looking at bumping the internet up to 500mbps at the one office, add a 500mbps Internet line at the 2nd office and increase the point to point to 200mbps. Our thought was to have each office hit the internet locally and interoffice data go through the point to point. My questions are as follows:
1. Since DHCP flows through the point to point, all clients will get the same gateway. Should I move to static IP on all clients?
2. In the event of failure of internet in one office...
